About Mishima Village
Mishima village consists of 3 islands, Takeshima, Iwojima and Kuroshima, which are scattered on the sea about 40 kilometers south of the Satsuma Peninsula.
As its name suggests, Takeshima is covered with Take(bamboos) and is famous for its specialty, “Daimyo Takenoko(bamboo shoot)”. The cliffs and deep blue sea are very impressive.
Iwojima is a dynamic island with active volcanoes and hot springs that continue to gush out.
Kuroshima is the largest of the three islands and is rich in forests and water.
